Clutter management
Everyday clutter buster. Get ready to spend time inside. It is time to get organized and purge unwanted, unused and out of style stuff. Your first step is to evaluate problem areas in your home. What I mean by problem areas are spaces in your home that are a constant energy drain. A place that gets on your nerves every time you see it, use it or are in it. For me it was my dressing room. I live in an old house that lacks closets, so I use a bedroom as a dressing room. It is a place that I store all of my clothes, fold and iron clothes and keep laundry. I wanted the room to look organized and pretty. This is a challenge between my husband's piles of clothes he rarely seems to put away and the several laundry baskets needed to keep clothes sorted for quick washing.
I decided to make a commitment to keep the room organized,
casual and attractive despite my challenges. I found hampers that look good in open spaces and lined them up. I lined one wall with dressers of different styles painted the same color and I have a decorative table in the center for folding clothes.
I share this because I suggest that you look at rooms in
different ways and make them meet your needs. If you rarely have guests, use that guest room to meet storage needs, as a home office, dressing room, craft room, or for any other use that will help you with those problem areas in your home. Perhaps there are other spaces in your home that are under utilized and can be used for other purposes. Take stock of your stuff and your rooms and start your clutter busting now so you can spend time indoors and relax. |
